Have fun and learn new skills in woods 

Get outdoors, feel closer to nature and build stronger bonds with your group as you learn new outdoor cooking skills together. Our outdoor specialist chef will get you lighting a campfire for cooking before preparing and cooking a delicious meal as a group, under the guidance of our outdoor specialist chef.

 

An exclusive rural woodland experience to be shared with family, friends or colleagues  

This is an intimate experience - being outdoors in the woods, by a fire and cooking and sharing food brings people closer together. Cooking over fire is the simplest expression of cooking where flavour is king and the stresses of modern life slip away.

Learn from outdoor specialist chef Robin Popham

Understand how to master the fire

Chef Robin will lead your campfire cooking session, showing you the art of setting up a fire for authentic campfire cooking and providing you with step-by-step guidance. The life cycle of heat is the key to cooking over fire, with a few basic skills and very little equipment learn to cook a tasty meal over your own campfire. You will learn how to use indirect and direct heat as well as the embers, to maximise flavour. Elevate your BBQ skills to a new level. 


Enjoy locally sourced food with food allergies and preferences catered for

With his guidance your group will pick up loads of cooking tips while you produce a delicious, locally sourced meal to share together.

How your session will flow

  • Start with building the fire from logs and learning to light it without a match
  • Brew a cup of coffee and tea while the fire heats up 
  • Learn how to use the fire specifically for cooking
  • 'Dirty’ cooking in the embers ~ root vegetables and occasionally meat & fish
  • Direct & Indirect cooking on the grill with more leafy vegetables and a flatbread as well as meat & fish
  • Spend time enjoying your meal in our beautiful woodland locations
  • Finish with home made marshmallows


Stay dry in wet weather

We've have rustic shelters that'll keep you snug and dry. So, don't let a little rain dampen your spirits - join us for an unforgettable culinary journey in the heart of the wilderness.

  • Sturdy boots or wellies are best (no sandals for cooking)
  • Well behaved dogs on a lead are welcome
