Come together around the campfire
Our site managers are responsible on the day for making sure that the event or experience is safely run and is fun for guests and motivate and lead the Fat Squirrel Outdoor team. You will need to get stuck in and do whatever task is required to make the day a success whether it is for a company, charity group, a family and friend group, tourists or children.
Outdoor events are subject to changeable weather and sometimes plans need to change, so we are looking for people capable of making changes when required to ensure the safety and fun of all. We are looking for people with outgoing and friendly personalities who love the outdoors and enjoy making people around them feel relaxed.
Ideally you will have some previous experience of managing people and be confident with the public. First aid qualifications are an advantage, if you don’t have one, we will get you trained. You will also be asked to complete an enhanced DBS check and online training prior to a trial shift.
Ideally you will have access to transport and will be able to work at both Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire locations. We operate a car share scheme and support cycling to work.
Our friendly event and experience hosts are responsible for instructing activities and making sure our guests enjoy their Fat Squirrel Outdoor experience.
We are looking for adults of all ages with friendly personalities who love the outdoors and who want to share their enthusiasm with our guests. You need to be confident talking to strangers of all generations.
Hosts are offered shifts based on our booking schedule – we run typical run events between 9.30am and 11pm Wednesday to Sunday.
Forest school, bushcraft or outdoor activity experience is helpful but not essential as we will train you how to run our experiences. Level 2 food safety and first aid qualifications are an advantage, if you don’t have them, we will get you trained. You will also be asked to complete an enhanced DBS check and online training prior to a trial shift.

Party and event hosts need to be confident and love working with children of all ages and be available to work at weekends between 9.30am and 5pm. You will be leading our parties, reassuring, and welcoming parents, giving kids a fun but safe outdoor experience.

We are looking for adults of all ages with friendly personalities who love the outdoors and can engage young people. You need to be confident talking to strangers.

Our support team do an amazing job keeping our experiences running smoothly. If you already have experience working in a café or with youth groups - brilliant! This is an occasional role that is ideal for under 18s who want to work around their school or college commitments.
To be a junior hosts you need to love being outdoors and be available to work weekends typically between 9.30am and 5pm. Your role will be to support the hosts to run parties, family events and activities.
Typically, this will be lighting and keeping campfires lit, supporting the catering, and helping to show guests how to do the activities. You do not need to have previous work experience or know how to do our activities but a background in Scouting, Guides, DofE or similar will be helpful.
You will be required to do some online food safety and outdoor working training and trial shift. We will also need to get you a work permit.
You will be allocated shifts closest to where you live. If you are offered shifts in a different location we operate a car share scheme to help you get there.
